The Band:

In spring 1991 four musicians from the Cologne-Bonn area formed this group. With their wide range of experiences and influences, gathered within years of playing in different bands and projects, they created their unique contribution to music. Psycodelic and straight Noise Pop are, amongst others, main components of their present sound.

The musicians Olaf Lambrich (voc., guit.), Jens Würker (bass), Malte Benthin (guit.) and Matthias Henning (dr., voc.) know how to actually live up provocation. Skillfully working up their influences, they know how to satisfy their audience especially when performing live on stage.

ernsthaft...

In spring 1992 their debut-album "PINK PILLS VS. LOVE, PEACE & HAPPINESS" was released. Being strongly influenced by the "Rave Hype", it has gained an astonishingly benevolent reaction from the critics. Already at this early stage, the band was attested of "playing at international level".

The second album "JESUS WAS AN ACID HEAD" proved even the last sceptic wrong. PINK PILLS do not only skillfully combine elements of such giants as The Doors or Jimi Hendrix, but they also developed and found their own unique sound. "JESUS WAS AN ACID HEAD" attracts not merely with its provocative and witty title, but the album also sounds more powerful and more experimental than their debut release. At the same time it is less compromising and even straighter with a fascinating overall impression of passion and intensity. The band reveals their preference for harder guitar riffs and earthy grooves.

cool...

As a result of the band's continuous work, PINK PILLS recently played such events as the BIZARRE-Festival/Loreley - with New Order and Sonic Youth - the Rheinkultur-Festival an the strange noise festival '96 and the BIZARRE-Festival '96. They were also invited by the WDR and the Cologne Council to join the POPKOMM fare ' 92, '93, '94 and '95. Furthermore they supported bands like Big Chief, SUN, M. Walking, Union Carbide Productions, Darkside and Kim Salmon & the surrealists.

German wide, they gained much enthusiasm by audiences in towns like Düsseldorf, Hamburg, Dortmund, Aachen, Munich and Berlin. PINK PILLS' first all-German-tour started in spring 1994.

The third album - enjoy! mongopark - (high gain rec. / warner chappell) was released in September 1996. Watch out!!!

lustig!
